What it tests
Math questions span four areas: algebra (linear equations and systems), advanced math (nonlinear functions and equations), problem-solving and data analysis (ratios, rates, percentages, data interpretation), and geometry and trigonometry.
Some questions are multiple-choice and some are 'student-produced responses' where you type the answer. A reference sheet of common formulas is provided.
The calculator changes the game
A Desmos graphing calculator is built into Bluebook and allowed on the whole Math section (you may also bring an approved physical calculator). Used well, it can solve, graph, and check work fast — but only if you've practiced with it. Learning Desmos before test day is one of the highest-leverage things you can do.
Don't lean on it blindly, though: setting up the problem correctly still matters, and some questions are faster by hand.
